The education sector has been evolving since the beginning. Earlier, there were not enough resources. Though, the times and resources have increased in the last decade. Still, the education sector was not ready to face the problems of the pandemic. The education sector is all about acquiring knowledge and skills that could help the students to excel in life and have a bright future. But the situation after Covid-19, things have become harder in the education sector.

Although the education sector is working hard every day to find new ways and tricks that could help the students to learn in these tough situations, the impact of teachers and the determination of students play a vital role in education to combat the loss because of the pandemic.

Covid-19 has become the enemy of the education sector by closing the educational institutions and creating a distance between the teachers and students. About 90% of the students are stuck at home due to the pandemic. Though it does not mean that they can not learn, but a distance has been created between the education and students.

The technological advancements have enabled remote learning for the students and allowed them to complete their learning on time. It has become the only way through which the students may continue to learn.

Educational institutions such as schools, colleges, universities, and more have turned the classrooms into virtual classrooms to make it easy for the students to understand things. Also, the third-party platforms that are online such as edx, Coursera, udemy, Vnaya, and others have seen a surge in the number of students after Covid-19. In 2020, 30 million students were enrolled in these online platforms for further education. Most of these learning platforms have given access to students to learn free of cost from their platform. Many online learning startups emerged in the pandemic, especially in emerging countries like India and China. According to a study conducted by KPMG, a surge of $2 billion in 2021 can be in the Indian education sector. For instance, BYJUs is estimated to have raised about $ 1.4 billion since its establishment in 2015.

Changed Learning Habits After The Pandemic

Over time most students are getting online. There will be an increase in the intensive learning resources with high-quality content available to them. The number of children is gradually increasing day by day. There are many trends emerging in the education sector to combat the situation of a pandemic for better education of students. Here are the ways in which the students and teachers are responding to Covid-19:

  • Keeping the communication alive: The students and teachers are constantly in touch with each other to keep the communication alive in these times. Also, about 75% of students wanted to get a regular update about Covid-19 to keep themselves aware of the pandemic situations. The educational institutions kept the students informed by creating a communication channel between the two. This communication made the students and educators feel relieved and alive to build trust. It also kept the communication alive by providing them with room to grow and explore the opportunities of the future.

  • Change in the trust formats: Earlier, educational institutions had no barriers on physical distancing but now without maintaining distance and properly equipping oneself with masks and sanitizers, no one is safe. This has widened the trust gap among people. Although, the trust might have been hampered it is not lost. Students still have trust in their hard work that can help them to fight the odds of the situation and bounce back once it gets better. As the lack of resources for learning was imposed in the beginning but now they have tons of valuable resources on the online platforms to learn.

  • Students are drawn to the online learning platforms: As the lockdown was imposed, everything shifted to the online platform so does the studies. Although students get to attend classes of their schools, colleges, universities, and more, they are mostly drawn towards the online learning platforms. These online learning platforms are helping the students to connect to educators around the world and learn new skills or sharpen the existing ones. Online learning platforms are a flexible option for students where they can control their everyday learning goals. Even educational institutions are investing in online learning platforms for the betterment of students.

  • The intersection of trends: The above-mentioned ways might seem to be creating a distance between the educators and students. Whereas, it is creating an intersection between the old trends and the new ones. In older times, students had to go to the institution to get knowledge but now they can learn from their place. Earlier the teachers played an important role in the education of students which is still vital in the current situation. As education has shifted online, there are still some facts that are the same such as, the need and importance of educators for learning, clearer communication, and transparency of decision-making. The things that have changed are the mode of learning, students have more career opportunities, more online advising platforms, and more credentials besides their degree.

It might seem that the covid-19 has closed the doors for the education sector. However, in reality, it helped the sector to explore more ways and opportunities to establish a strong learning technique for the future.
